10 Books for Your Fall Reading List
A book-hangover is best nursed with a new book boyfriend
Hi friends! I love posting reading lists and sharing with you the little bit of magic I treasure between pages.
I am feeling ambitious with this reading list. There’s a bit of everything here. Romance, memoirs, mythology, and so on…
There are so many titles I want to dedicate time to and I am sure you may have already read some yourself. If so, I would love for you to share your thoughts in the comments! And please let me know what you’re reading.
Know My Name: A Memoir
Chanel Miller
So many different sources have recommended this memoir and for good reason. Following her sexual assault and trial, the world knew Chanel Miller as a victim named Emily Doe. While the name was meant to give Chanel Miller privacy, she takes back her identity and owns her story in a way all readers will remember.
Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes
Edith Hamilton
I have always loved learning about legends and mythology. The idea that everything can be attributed to a goddess or god, from spring to love, is just an extraordinary way to see the world.
The Hidden Life of Trees
Peter Wohlleben
All thumbs are waiting to bloom into their green nature. With more free time on my hands, I am learning to talk to plants and to see the world from the perspective of all wild life. After all, they are our better neighbors on this planet. Trees are one the beginning of the journey.
All the Light We Cannot See
Anthony Doerr
War stories and historical fiction sometimes trick me. This story was a bit harder for me to dive into, but it snuck up on me in the best way. I fell in love with the emotions that it evoked and the passages that made every event in the world feel significant. You’ll find yourself dissecting your own reactions. I recommend listening to some instrumental for theme music to set the mood.
Anna Karenina
Leo Tolstoy
Honestly, I should admit that I spent years avoiding this novel. I’m not exactly a fan of tragic endings. I have friends who love this story so dearly and so I reluctantly became the owner of a copy. Tolstoy bested me. After reading a few chapters, I understood the admiration. Perhaps it’s just a matter of when you’re ready to read the story.
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnus Nutter Witch
Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
I started watching the series and I am so obsessed. The undertones of forbidden friendship and love that I detect are making my heart burst with excitement. I cannot wait to get my hands on the book!
Red, White, and Royal Blue
Casey McQuiston
I promised you a book boyfriend. HUZZAH! The overachiever in me delivered you not one but TWO! Jokes on you. Okay I will stop making funnies now.
Just read the blurb and try to resist the charm and clever appeal of this love story.
Someone Who Will Love You in All Your Damaged Glory: Stories
Raphael Bob-Waksberg
I love reading about love. Does that surprise you? The cover attracted me and then I was hooked by the concept.
Yes She Can: 10 Stories of Hope and Change from Young Female Staffers of the Obama White House
compiled by Molly Dillon
This book comes highly recommended! I am ready for the dose of inspiration and sparks of empowerment.
Gmorning, Gnight! Little Pep Talks for Me and You
Lin-Manuel Miranda
The simplicity just makes my heart happy! Think of it as reading daily affirmations with joyful messages. Also, as a huge fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda, I knew this would be a hit.
Happy reading from my library to yours!
Please let me know what you have queued too. Share things of value and you will find more value in your life.
