Travel Like A Wes Anderson Character
Places around the world that will remind you of a set for a Wes Anderson film
Recently I have become obsessed with the aesthetic of Wes Anderson films. Naturally, I took inspiration to my Instagram. I also thought it would be fun to compile a list of places that will fool you into thinking you’re a character out of a movie.
I know I am late to the “Accidentally Wes Anderson” trend, please don’t sue me. Just be glad I finally joined.
This is a list of places, some I have been to and some I hope to see one day. It’s always fun to write about my own experiences, but I also try to write about the places I have never seen. Manifesting your dreams is a process. Sharing them with the universe is like adding a dash of magic and sprinkle of faith to a recipe for success. Buckle in for the ride!
Sketch - London, UK
This is the famous pink tearoom, but there’s also a majestic fairy-like room adjoining it.
Riads in Marrakech, Morocco
I love sharing places that I left with rave reviews. The Riad BE and Riad Calista were magnificent!
Palladio Bar & Caffe - Jaipur, India
I found this gem on Instagram and I am obsessed!
State Historical Museum - Moscow, Russia
Honestly, anywhere in Russia. For a couple of years, I have been very drawn to photos of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The inspiration would probably drown me and I’m okay with that.
Claude Monet’s Home - Giverny, France
I don’t want to be that friend who come back from study abroad and doesn’t know when to shut up about traveling, but boy oh boy do I love this place.
You will not regret visiting.
Charlottenburg Palace - Berlin, Germany
Some palaces make you wonder what it would be like to have a royal family inhabit the place. A girl can dream of being invited to a ball.
But wait! There’s more!
The Tower Theatre - Roseville, California
I had to include my hometown!
This place is a beloved landmark to me and many others.
Mr. Smith (bar) - Maastricht, Netherlands
Who doesn’t love a good secret? I can list countless speakeasies I’ve read about that remind me of good ol’ Wes Anderson. It’s all in the details for this one!
And based on the photos that I have seen, the drinks look fabulous.
“I hope to arrive to my death late, in love, and a little drunk”
Don’t we all, Mr Smith, don’t we all?
This Cabin - Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada
Do you ever just go on AirBnB and pretend to plan a vacation? It’s not just me, right?
Well if you don’t, you should start because you’re missing out on the fun.
There are lots of destinations and stays out there that could provide you with a set for your own film. This one just spoke to me. And I think I have a soft spot for Canadians…
Floppy Disk Repair Co. - Austin, Texas
The punchline is just too good.
This is an ode to the “Saturday Night Live” skit, so it’s a funny. We are all still waiting for Wes Anderson to make a horror movie.
The temptation to add another speakeasy to the list was too hard to resist and this one has spunk.
Cut!
Sadly, that’s the end of our scene. Coming soon is another blog post, stay tuned!
P.S. head over to my music section for a Wes Anderson Playlist!!! And check out my insta stories this week for more :)
